Engineered Products
Tunco offers in-house engineering and computer-aided design services, along with the latest CNC machining technology for providing customized cutting tools and abrasive products. Design
With the aid of our state of the art Auto Cad computer system, our Design Team can easily Engineer and Prototype your product from design to finished product. We can also easily transfer your customer's files and prints over to our system.
The process usually starts when a customer calls with a need to develop a product that will do a better job cutting or otherwise altering composite materials. Based on the customer's needs, we then begin the process to develop this part. Typically a customer will send us a part or product that they manufacture and ask us to design a product to cut or grind their product in the manufacturing process.
Start of engineering process
Our engineering team will develop a concept and design. The customer can then approve the design and Tunco will develop a prototype of the product to test. After a successful test, we can manufacture as many of the parts that the customer requires.
Because larger production runs are always less expensive per item than small production runs, we can manufacture a significant number of a customer's items, warehouse them, and then ship them in quantities and times as determined by their needs, while warehousing the remaining parts in our facility.
Re-engineering
If the customer manufactures a part, we can back-engineer or re-engineer that part so then we can develop a grinding wheel, for example, to better enable the customer to make the required product, utilizing a grinding wheel that was specially engineered to handle their particular product design.
