Tunco Manufacturing offers high-quality cutting and abrasive tools that are specifically designed for use on composites, such as fiberglass, reinforced plastics, rubber and similar non-metallic abrading materials. Tunco specializes in sharp, durable, Tungsten Carbide Grit, or patented Di-Carb abrasive surfaces.
Our products have nearly the tool life and performance levels of diamond-only products, but at a fraction of the cost of diamond products. Our tools will also outlast traditional abrasives and high-speed steel cutting tools.

What is Tungsten Carbide Grit Surface?
Tungsten carbide is one of the hardest materials known. It measures 90 on the Rockwell "C" scale, and that approaches the hardness and durability of natural diamonds.
When crushed, the resultant tungsten carbide grit particles are extremely sharp. Utilizing a controlled atmosphere furnace brazing process, we permanently bond the grit to your part, creating a surface that can only be worn by the dulling or rounding of the sharp grit edges.
A grit coating can be applied to an infinite variety of metallic shapes with a full ( completely covered ), medium, or sparse density, depending upon your application. We'll be glad to help you select the correct grit size and density.

Tunco’s new tire shaping discs are the premier shaping disc on the market. They are manufactured from a one piece CNC machined blank in 4 1/4 or 7 inch diameter. Tunco Manufacturing can also custom manufacture discs to fit your custom shapes in sizes up to 7 inches in diameter. Tire Shaping Discs are supplied with a stock 5/8-11 tapped hole. All shaping discs are coated with superior grade crushed Tungsten Carbide and offer stock grit sizes of #24 grit (fine), #16 grit (medium), and #12 grit (coarse).
Tunco’s Shaping discs also offer something that is unique to this market. Our discs can cut with both the O.D. and the face of the discs to allow you to get the longest and most optimal use of your discs for your money’s worth. Tunco also can provide different size grit on the face and O.D. to your specifications. Tire Shaping Discs are all precisely balanced for maximum R.PM. use per diameter to ensure the highest quality grind for your shaping and sharpening needs.

Many tractor, truck and auto racing enthusiasts cut and shape their tires to add speed and performance to their tires by hand shaping them with various tire shaping tools. Tunco tire shaping discs are an excellent choice for this endeavor. Various grinding tools can be used and depending on the grit level of the grinding tool they can cut a tire deeply or make very shallow cuts. Disc shaped grinders are usually used for the edges of the tire or other localized areas and they can be purchased in several different grit values.
Caution: Serious injury can result in the use of grinding discs. Tires must be mounted, inflated, and bolted to vehicle axle. Do not operate without eye protection and guards in place.
